Terms and Conditions
Effective date: 28 July 2026
Last updated: 28 July 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of BiteBeat, operated by Jan Kosara (trading as BiteBeat), Novackeho 8, Bratislava, Slovak Republic 841 04 (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By creating an account or using BiteBeat, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service
BiteBeat is a beta web application that helps you log when you eat, log urges to eat with optional notes and feeling tags, view statistics about meal timing, gaps between meals, and inferred fasting-related durations, and optionally subscribe to Premium for extended history, daily goals, and a habit calendar.
BiteBeat is a personal self-tracking tool. It does not provide medical, nutritional, psychological, or other professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for health-related decisions. Do not rely on BiteBeat for diagnosis or treatment.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use BiteBeat. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
If you use BiteBeat on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
4. Account registration and security
To use BiteBeat, you must create an account with a valid email address and password.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential, all activity under your account, and providing accurate account information. Notify us immediately at yanchi(at)yanchi.space if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a security risk.
5. Free and Premium plans
Free plan: includes core logging features and a 7-day rolling statistics window.
Premium plan (“Complete Stats”): includes extended statistics (30-day, 1-year, and monthly views), customizable daily goals, and a habit calendar. Premium is billed as a monthly subscription at €1 per month (or the price shown at checkout). Prices may change; we will inform you before a price change affects your renewal where required by law.
As a beta service, we may add, change, or remove features. We will not materially reduce paid features without notice where required by law.
6. Subscriptions, billing, and payment
Payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. By subscribing, you agree to their terms and privacy practices for payment processing. Card details are entered on their secure pages, not on BiteBeat.
Premium subscriptions renew automatically each month until canceled. You authorize us (via our payment provider) to charge the applicable fee at each renewal.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing management option in the app (Profile), which redirects you to our payment provider’s portal. If you cancel, your Premium access typically continues until the end of the current billing period, unless you request a refund under Section 7. After the period ends, your account reverts to the free plan; your logs remain unless you delete them or your account.
If a payment fails, we may retry the charge. Your subscription may be marked as past due. You may retain Premium access while retries occur. You should update your payment method via the billing portal.
Prices may include or exclude applicable taxes depending on your location and our tax status. Any VAT or similar taxes will be shown at checkout where applicable.
7. Refund policy
If you are unhappy with Premium, contact us at yanchi(at)yanchi.space.
- We will refund the unused portion of the current billing month (the unfinished month).
- Completed billing months are not refundable.
We will process eligible refunds within a reasonable time, typically within 14 days of approval. This policy does not affect mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
8. Right of withdrawal (EU/EEA consumers)
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you may have a 14-day right to withdraw from distance contracts for digital services.
Immediate performance: Premium is a digital service that begins when you subscribe. If you start using Premium immediately after payment, you acknowledge that you request immediate access to Premium and you may lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed or once you have begun using Premium, as permitted by applicable law.
To exercise withdrawal where it still applies, email yanchi(at)yanchi.space within 14 days of subscribing.
9. Your content and data
Notes, meal entries, urge entries, and goals you enter are your content. You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate and improve BiteBeat as described in our Privacy Policy.
You agree not to:
- use BiteBeat for unlawful purposes;
- upload content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, or infringes others’ rights;
- attempt to access other users’ data;
- interfere with or disrupt the service, security, or infrastructure;
- reverse engineer or scrape the service except where law permits.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
10. Intellectual property
BiteBeat, including its name, branding, design, and software (excluding your content), is owned by Jan Kosara or licensors. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in BiteBeat.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of BiteBeat except as allowed by law or with our written permission.
11. Beta disclaimer
BiteBeat is provided in beta. The service may contain bugs, change without notice, or be unavailable temporarily. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
12. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BiteBeat is provided “as is” and “as available”. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that statistics, fasting-related calculations, or goal evaluations are accurate or suitable for any health purpose. BiteBeat is not a substitute for professional advice.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Jan Kosara shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, or damages arising from your reliance on BiteBeat for health or medical decisions.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service shall not exceed the greater of €50 or the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim. Mandatory consumer rights and liability rules in your country may limit these exclusions.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jan Kosara from claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of BiteBeat, your content, or your violation of these Terms, except where prohibited by law.
15. Account deletion and termination
You may delete your account in the app. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile and logs. An active subscription is canceled and billing stops. Deletion cannot be undone.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or where required by law. Where reasonable, we will notify you. Upon termination, your right to use BiteBeat ends. Sections that by nature should survive will survive.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the current version at bitebeat.app/terms and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide notice (for example by email or in-app notice) where required by law. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance, subject to your statutory rights.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Slovakia (Slovak Republic), without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
We encourage you to contact us first at yanchi(at)yanchi.space to resolve disputes informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to the courts of Slovakia, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
18. General
- These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding BiteBeat.
- If any provision is invalid, the rest remains in effect.
- Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
- We may assign these Terms; you may not assign without our consent.
- These Terms are in English.
